In 2025, the European Journal of Paediatric Dentistry (EJPD) marks its twenty-fifth anniversary—a significant milestone representing twenty-five years of scientific endeavour, dedication, and commitment to advancing the oral health of children worldwide.
Established in 2000 as an ambitious initiative of the Società Italiana di Odontoiatria Infantile (SIOI), the EJPD has steadily evolved into one of the foremost international journals in the field of paediatric dentistry. This anniversary stands as a testament not only to the quality and integrity of the research published over time, but also to the vitality and cohesion of a scientific community that continues to look towards the future with curiosity and purpose.
Over these twenty-five years, the EJPD has accompanied successive generations of researchers and clinicians, providing an international platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and discoveries. To date, the Journal has engaged 3,216 authors and disseminated 1,180 scientific manuscripts. It has documented the ongoing evolution of paediatric dentistry, upheld the central role of scientific evidence in clinical practice, and contributed to improving the quality of life of the young patients who remain at the core of our mission.
This anniversary is not solely a celebration of what has been achieved, but a forward-looking reflection—an invitation to renew our collective commitment to research, innovation, and cross-border collaboration, which continue to shape the progress of paediatric dentistry.
