ABSTRACT
Aim
Controversy over the relationship between occlusion and the progression of periodontal destruction has
been ongoing since the beginning of scientific studies of dental diseases. This paper reviews the literature and explores the
relationship between trauma from occlusion with periodontal disease in children, presenting recommendations for clinical
practice based on the available evidence.
