8th Guido Gallusi Biennial Prize 2012

8th Guido Gallusi biennial Prize 2012 1. SIOI (Italian Society of Paediatric Dentistry) to honour the memory of President Guido Gallusi, prematurely dead during his mandate, publishes a contest for the eighth edition of the “Guido Gallusi Biennial Prize”. 2. The prize consists of euros 3.000,00 coming from an open subscription made by SIOI, and it is meant to be spent for a research project or for updating or improving in paediatric dentistry carried out in a hospital or university structure in Italy. 3.The entry requirements for the contest are: graduation from a European Union Faculty or from a mediterranean country joined up AMOP ( Mediterranenan Association of Paediatric Dentistry); authorisation under applicable law to practice dentistry in Italy at the time of subscription to this contest if the stage in Italy is requested. 4. The candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the documented curriculum of the two year period, between the date of the competition announcement and the end indicated in the announcement, reporting any activity concerning paediatric dentistry and on the basis of the validity and the feasibility of project to be conducted in a Hospital or University dental paediatric department in Italy, if stage in Italy is requested 5. For the actual contest the two year period of evaluation starts on May 1st 2010 and ends on April 30th 2012. 6. The curriculum evaluation of the contest will be based on the following titles: scientific, professional, pre- and post-graduation, and any other title the candidates wish to add as long as pertaining to paediatric dentistry. 7. The committee will also evaluate the proposed research project, according to point 4 of the present announcement. The project will have to be fully illustrated and supplied with documentary evidence of the approval of the head of the structure the candidate wish to attend or with the regular enrolment to an updating or specialising course if stage In Italy is requested. 8. Applications and the following accompanying documentation must be received by 12:00 p.m. April 30th 2012 at official SIOI Secretariat: - University Graduation certificate; Curriculum of the last two years period; Research project. Personal declaration stating to be currently authorised under applicable law to practice dentistry in Italy, if stage in Italy was requested Applications post marked after this date will not be accepted. 9. The judging committee is composed of the President of the Italian Society of Paediatric Dentistry (SIOI) or his/her delegate and two paediatric dentistry professors appointed by the SIOI Directive Council. 10. The Judging Committee will award the prize at its unquestionable judgement to the first classified of a list of qualified candidates, according to the standards indicated above. Classification “ex aequo” is not admitted
